ADVENTURES IN MUSIC AIM is an education program of the San Francisco Symphony. The Dmitri Matheny Group provided over 100 in-school concerts for more than 15,000 children in 2008.
DMITRI MATHENY GROUP The DMG is a jazz ensemble under the leadership of Dmitri Matheny (flugelhorn), featuring Charles McNeal (saxophones), Brad Buethe (guitar), Ruth Davies (bass) and Deszon X. Claiborne (drums). GRANT & MATHENY G&M is Matheny's acclaimed "chamber jazz" duo with Portland, Oregon-based pianist Darrell Grant. HOME SEASON The DMITRI MATHENY HOME SEASON is a San Francisco Bay Area concert series staged annually in March since 1989. In 2009 we celebrate the Home Season's 20th anniversary. PREMIERES Dmitri Matheny stages world premiere performances of new commissioned work; provides writing, orchestration and arranging services on a contract basis; publishes sheet music; and licenses his recordings of original compositions for films, advertising, video games and other third party uses. RECORDING Matheny Music produces and distributes compact discs and digital downloads for the Papillon Recordings label. Recordings are sold online, at concerts, and distributed to record retail specialty stores by Super D Independent Distribution, the largest independent distributor of music and games in the world. Latest release: BEST OF DMITRI MATHENY. SCHOLARSHIP The Art Farmer Memorial Scholarship is an endowed scholarship fund established by the Friends of Matheny Music in association with UC Berkeley's Young Musicians Program. THE SNOWCAT THE SNOWCAT is an original show created for children and families, staged annually during the month of December. |
